My favorite vacation memory
This summer, I went to
the U.S. for the homestay program and I had a very good time there. However,
that was the 2nd time to go abroad for a long time. When I was 16
years old, I visited Canada for studying English for a month. This time I make
a point of writing this memory, for I’m tired of telling someone or writing
about one in Minnesota. I applied for a scholarship to go to Prince Edward
Island out of a whim. I had to write an essay about the reason why I’d like to
go there in English and I won! All members of my family were glad to hear that,
but they worried about my staying there by myself. After I took airplanes three
times, I got there and my host mother called for me. She was so beautiful and
kind. Though she didn’t have husband and children, she always took me somewhere
after school. [159 words]

My favorite vacation memory
I went
to Minnesota this summer, so I’m going to tell you about one exciting day
there. Kristen, my host mother took me to Long Lake in Minnesota after we went
to the church on Sunday. Katie, her twin sister and Bryanna, Katie’s daughter,
was waiting for us there with their swim suits. As Katie has the boat license,
she put her yellow boat by the lakeside. She also had a water tube called “BIG
MABLE”. She lent me a life jacket, but I didn’t know what to do. Bryanna sat on
the water tube and called me, “Come on, Ruka!” Katie tied her boat and the
water tube with a rope, and then she said, “Here we go! Grab the handle
tightly!” When she started to control her boat, strong and cool wind blew. It
was so nice and I was hooked. I’d like to try it again. (149 words)

Something special I did during this vacation
I had
a wonderful time during this summer vacation. I went to America for the first
time and take some lessons in the university. I learned a lot of American culture
and practiced speaking English many times. It was the second time to go abroad,
but it was better than before. Next, I took one of the national exams related
to travel at Fukuoka University. That license is for tour management. It was
really difficult, so I think I’ll fall it. However, I didn’t have enough time
to study for it because of final exams at KGU, so I’d like to try it again next
year. (106 words)
Good and bad points about summer
I’m
going to tell you about good and bad points about summer. In summer, we can do
a variety of things outside. For example, we can go camping and hiking, go to
the beaches, the rivers, the festivals, and so on. As for me, I went to some
lakes and rivers in the U.S. many times this summer. In addition, students have
long summer break. They can experience a lot of things. On the other hand, we
have more risks to suffer heat stroke than other seasons, so we should take
some break and drink water especially when we do sports. (101 words)

My vacations plans/preparation
I'm going to tell you about my vacation plans. Before the break is coming, I'm going to Minnesota, the U.S. for studying and the homestay program of KGU. I'll stay there for a month and take lessons at Bethel University in Minnesota. After coming back to Japan, I'll work almost every day and take extra final exam of KGU from September 1st to 5th. Then I'll take a national qualification about tour management at Fukuoka Uni. For the rest of my vacation, I want to enjoy something with my friends and practice driving time after time. (102 words)
