Essay 2-01b: The Nicest Restaurant in Downtown Kumamoto

There are a lot of nice restaurants and cafeterias in downtown Kumamoto, but their service is sometimes bad or the prices are too high for many college students who want to go out. Here’s the great-granddaddy of them all.

It’s R. K. T’s. Here is a map showing the location of the restaurant. It’s situated near Shimotori Street, on the left side of Sakae Street in the first basement. The name of the building is Soshu Building. It’s a fairly large restaurant, so customers who don’t make a reservation can almost always come in.

In the restaurant, there are various kinds of dishes, such as salads, carpaccio, snacks, pizza, spaghetti, and steak. There are different dinner courses depending on time and what’s special on the menu. Customers can eat and drink as much as they want. If they pay 2,000 to 3,000 yen per person, they can order most of the dishes. There are also a plenty of drinks. Compared with many restaurants and bars, the taste of alcohol is so nice. It’s rather reasonable than other restaurants and the atmosphere is also good.

Unique points of the restaurant are that there are some pieces of paper for customers to use to order dishes, and they can also write how many people eat them or can make them serving larger than usual if they want. Moreover, the restaurant gives the customers good service. For example, it serves several pieces of cake for service because they don’t eat too much. Also, there has service day that the customers can eat and drink until whenever they’d like to. Of course the price [of the all-you-can-eat special] is the same as usual. It costs 3,000 yen per person and they can eat and drink as much as they want.

In conclusion, R. K. T. is the nicest restaurant because it’s reasonable, nice atmosphere, a little attention for the customers, and there is abundant food and drink menu, though the servers sometimes work too slowly.
